Calvert Hall shuts down Largo, 21-0

Calvert Hall bounced back strong from last week's setback to Georgetown Prep, with a big effort on both sides of the ball, as the Cardinals shutout visiting Largo, 21-0, in a non-conference football game on Friday.
Sophomore Brandon Neverdon led the Cardinal offense with 88 yards rushing, including a 20 yard second quarter touchdown run.
Calvert Hall took a 7-0 first quarter lead on a 10 yard run by quarterback Patrick Fitzgerald. In addition, Phil Castronova scored on a 25 yard third quarter run.
Adrian Amos added an interception for the defense, which recorded its fourth shutout of the year.
Next week, Calvert Hall (6-3, 2-1) will be in Owings Mills on Saturday afternoon to challenge McDonogh, which is now 3-0 in the conference. The Eagles scored 20 points in the final 4:49 of their game with Georgetown Prep, Friday afternoon, to pull out a 27-26 victory.
