Loyola wins its third straight National Swimming title

Loyola Blakefield took first place in five of 10 events as it won its third straight National Catholic Swimming Championship, Saturday at Villanova University in Philadelphia.

The Dons won the 200 Medley Relay as Oliver Bennett, Kendrick McDonald, Tyler Elfert and Ryan Leonard each swam legs.

Leonard joined Hugh Davison, Alex Porter and Aaron Jones in winning the 200 free relay. Loyola also won the 400 free relay, as Porter, Davison, Bennett and Elfert did the honors.

In addition, Porter won the 50 free and Davison won the 100 free.

Loyola took 18 swimmers to the event and 17 of them scored points.

The Dons finished with 430 points. Georgetown Prep was second with 299 points and Malvern Prep had 197 points to place third.
