Gilman takes it up a level, knocks off Loyola, 63-55

In a contest that was snowed out last month, and jeopardized by weather again this week, Gilman and Loyola squared off in B Conference vs. A Conference basketball battle, Sunday at Blakefield, where the visiting Greyhounds followed a familiar script to win their 15th straight game, 63-55.
CJ Jones continued his high scoring ways for Gilman as he edged Loyola's Matt Mathias, 28-27, for high scoring honors in the contest.
Jones also added six assists and three steals as Gilman led most of the way.
Ryan Ripken had 13 points and six rebounds for Gilman (17-3), while Bryan Wills had nine points and nine rebounds.
In addition to Mathias, Brendan Hartman scored 10 points to also reach double figures for Loyola (10-11).
Gilman 63, Loyola 55
GIL: Jones 28, Jennings 5, Ripken 13, Willis 9, Copeland 3, Worthington 5.
LOY: Fitzpatrick 5, Mathias 27, Floyd 2, Vigis 2, Murphy 3, Fiocco 6, Hartman 10.
Half: Gilman, 28-21.
