Roster set for FCA U19 lacrosse team which will compete in Vail Shootout

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) introduced its roster, on Thursday, for the 2010 FCA U19 Lacrosse Team. The squad features nine MIAA players among its 20 members.

The team will be competing in the U19 Vail Lacrosse Shootout June 27 – July 1. The team consists of players from Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, and Virginia. FCA returns to Vail after having successful stints in the U13 and U15 divisions over the past few years, including a U13 championship in 2007 and a U15 championship in 2009. The 2010 FCA U19 roster includes:

ATTACK
Jimmy Bitter (Stowe, VT - Deerfield Academy ’11 – North Carolina)
Brady Faby (Lutherville, MD - McDonogh ’11 – undecided)
Will Himler (Manhasset, NY - Chaminade ’10 – Princeton)
Derek Maltz (Ashburn, VA - Stony Bridge ’10 – Syracuse)
Jack Matthews (Baltimore, MD - Gilman ’11 – Rutgers)

MIDFIELD
Drew Belinsky (Manhasset, NY - Manhasset '10 – U Penn)
Ricky Buhr (Manhasset, NY - Manhasset '10 – Syracuse)
Phil Castronova (Baltimore, MD - Calvert Hall ’10 - Johns Hopkins)
Beda Cha (Baltimore, MD - Giman ’10 – Amherst)

Austin Geisler (Fredericksburg, VA - St. Anne's-Belfield '10 – Virginia)

The club will be led by Frank Kelly III, a one time Calvert Hall and Cornell University star who is the brother of Calvert Hall head coach Bryan Kelly, as well as the father of Frankie and Stephen Kelly, who were members of the 2010 Calvert Hall squad. Kelly coached last year's FCA U15 team to a national championship.
