MIAA baseball playoffs pushed back by Tuesday's rain
Post-season games hope to resume on Wednesday
Despite the best attempts of all involved, Tuesday's slate of MIAA baseball post-season games, in all three conferences were postponed on Tuesday and hope to get back on track on Wednesday and Thursday. That could remain tricky, however, as rain showers remain in the Baltimore area.
In the A Conference, one of the best-of-three semifinal series is scheduled to resume on Wednesday, with Calvert Hall playing Archbishop Spalding at 1:00 p.m at Joe Cannon Stadium, while John Carroll's game at Mount St. Jospeh has been postponed until Thursday at 4:00 p.m. If officials determine that St. Joe's field is not playable on Thursday morning, the game will be shifted to the turf field at Loyola Blakefield with a 3:30 p.m. start time. Calvert Hall and John Carroll each hold 1-0 leads in their series and can clinch a place in the finals with one more win.
The B Conference winner's bracket final, between St. Paul's and McDonogh has been moved to John Carroll, at 6:30 p.m., while Boys' Latin and Gerstell Academy are scheduled to play their elimination game at Loyola Blakefield.
Park School's C Conference winner's bracket final against Beth Tfiloh, on natural grass at Stevenson University, has been postponted until Wednesday. However, the elimination bracket game between St. Vincent Pallotti and Key School remains on schedule for Tuesday, on the turf, at Calvert Hall.
Stay tuned for updates.
