Cam Whitmore, a native of Odenton, Maryland, and a high school star at Archbishop Spalding High, will continue his NBA career in his home region, after being traded this week from the Houston Rockets to the Washington Wizards, for a pair of second round picks in the NBA Draft.
Whitmore spent the first two seasons of his professional career in Houston where he averaged 10.8 points and 3.4 rebounds per game, over his first 98 NBA games. He also started three games for the Rockets in which he averaged 25 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists per game. He was the 20th overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft after one season at Villanova where he earned Big East Freshman of the Year honors.
Following his senior year of high school he played in the 2022 McDonald's All-American game and the Jordan Brand Classic. He also was MVP at the FIBA U18 Americas Championships.
